Koinup is the first social network to share your virtual life by publishing your machinima, screenshots and virtual stories.

It allows users to upload, share and review contents they create within virtual worlds, metaverse, mmorpg and games as Second Life, IMVU, World of Warcraft, The Sims 2 and many others.

Photography enthusiast can join Koinup and publish their pictures or, using our storyboard tool, share stories mixing images and words!

How

Koinup is a social network based on user-generated contents. It's for users who want to share their works with other users. It allows its members to upload their creations and it encourages them to review or comment on other members’ creations. From a general point of view Koinup is similar to other social networks. But it is also unique, because it focuses only on contents created in virtual and synthetic environments as games/mmorpg/3dworld.

The mission of Koinup is to allow virtual worlds and metaverse users to share their lives and their creations in a suitable place, to get feedback from the community and socialize with other members. Koinup is the ideal place to share your virtual experiences and creativity. It's the ideal place to share your “other” identities.

For us, virtual world and metaverse are new countries where people build other identities of themselves. In mmorpg and virtual worlds milions of people manage parallel lives and make great experiences. For a great part of these users mmorpg and virtual worlds are terific platforms to express themselves and create photos, video, objects, events, etc. Koinup mission is to provide an ideal place for these contents.

Why

Koinup is a derivation of Koinè. Koinè is a term that ancient Greeks used to suggest a sort of esperanto they use to speak with foreign people. We at Koinup think that virtual worlds, games and metaverses are becoming the new Esperanto. They allow people to socialize, communicate and express themselves, beyond nationalities, regions and countries. So we coined the term Koinup, which is the up-grade of Koinè. Koinup is the place where users could share their "other" lives and the creations they made in virtual environments.

How much

Koinup is 100% free. Anyone can enjoy the platform for free. members can use several Koinup features (upload works, write comments, send messages, add tags) free of charge. We provide our members up to 1,5 Gb of storage space for free!

Who

Founded in march 2007, Koinup has been founded by Pierluigi Casolari and Edoardo Turelli. They serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), respectively.

Pierluigi Casolari is a writer and digital art expert. He worked as company consultant for several new media agencies. He teaches web marketing for several schools and academies in Milan, Italy.

Edoardo Turelli is a web/db developer and SEO consultant. He develops cross-platform software and web applications for several media agencies.
