this image is a protest shot of the current "windlight no post processing" contest.
the page with the contest rules (http://www.koinup.com/contest/windlightnoprocessing/) CLEARY states the following :
"People are asked to send their submission as postcards. "
HOWEVER, I have been told that it is MANDATORY to send your submissions in as a postcard! I have scoured over the rules, and NOWHERE does it currently state that it is required to send your submissions in VIA postcard from Second Life. It is only "asked". What this means is that my lifeguard image, also taken at Seal Cove (http://www.koinup.com/Socks/work/57765/), is now ineligible for entry into the contest because I saved it onto my hard drive then uploaded it.
This makes me angry in that using windlight with my computer is already pushing the limits of what it can do. Add to this that for SOME REASON, Second Life, on my computer, while using windlight settings, refuses to take photos of any prims, or water reflections. For a furry this sucks because you have what amounts to a naked weird looking guy in the picture, and not an anthromorphic animal. Plus the water is truly dead, it's a blank field of ink.
So in protest, I tweaked my computer to an inch of it's life to trick it into getting a postcard image with windlight effects. And I chose seal cove again as that's where my image of the lifeguard cat was taken. And I'm posing naked, but censored so it's not in TOS violations. And this is an official contest entry. I will remain naked until either the rules are altered to show it's postcards only, or I put some clothing on, whichever comes first.
I do not mind that it's "postcards only", but the rules should specifically state this fact! I would have liked to have known that before I spent 2 hours setting up that shot (1 frame a second is a killer) and then 10 seconds striking the set as it were. On the bright side, I think this experiment is repeatable, in that I can possibly take windlight postcards now. However, I have more than a few doubts this is the case.
And if you haven't figured it out by now, this is not to be taken seriously. I hate that I have to actually SAY this, but apparently senses of humor for satirical comedy doesn't exist.
