"Where the Hell is Socks" July 08
For my 100th work (99 if you don't count the one that won't rez a few pages back) I want to make it decent. So, here it is. Another sim-hop adventure for surfing! This one is all over the grid, including some of the oldest, and newest surf locations.
Oh, related, I'm maintaining an unofficial list of surf locations. It's available in WWW form here (surfwatchreport.blogspot.com/2008/01/socks...) and in-world at several locations including my stores. If you want it, IM me and I'll send it your way or find one of the give boxes in world. Look on my profile for the store locations.
I should also mention, SL Surfing is not like driving a vehicle. Pushing forward does not propel you on the wave and keep you standing. If you lose too much speed, you "belly out", or lay flat on your chest/belly and have to paddle for speed. Keep that in mind as you see some of the transfer stunts, like the one at El Corazone. I'm right on the knife edge of "bellying out" on a lot of my stalls and turns.
(And update less than 2 months after this was released, of featured locations on this video, the following are radically changed : Topanga Beach is gone, Marco Japan is invite only, Saba has changed from pipes to an epic and taken the dive sites out, Bushido has put in their own wave that's only compatible with their surfboards, Freeport has moved 1 sim over... The only constant in SL is change...)
