Looks like i'm on a memory spree. This video isn't made mainly by me, but by Aladora, one of the best machinima artists on the gaming scene i ever met in my whole life (Soundtrack is an incredibly moving original work by Edyn), i was honored to be able to help her in this one by handling the dubbing direction and sound mixing (and being one of the actors, the blonde long haired hume paladin that draws his sword at the beginning and appears all the way trough the video, sometimes wearing a white helmet, other than being Aladora's personal meat shield for the first person monster scenes :P). Since it's become a lil hard to find, i thought i'd share it. Another movie that draws fond memories of an awesome and sweet friend (Aladora herself, that appears in the video as the red haired Elvaan with an axe) and of a great community.
Watching this kind of old movies sometimes makes me think about the only drawback of online communities. They are so volatile. Friends come and go everyday, disappearing from your life despite what you shared with them and leaving just fond and a little melancholic memories. Then the time comes for you to leave as well, and the world, the faces you used to meet everyday, brothers and sisters in arms with wich you faced dangers and joys, become blurry images in the back of your heart. You wonder if they still remember that stern paladin that used to shield them while they were casting that last deadly spell on that boss monster, or with wich they stood stalwart on the ramparts of a keep, raining fiery death on a virtual, but sometimes even too real, enemy. Then sometimes you meet them again on the next world, few things can compare to the joy of that kind of reunion. Because, you know, brothers in (virtual) arms always share special feelings for each other :)
