pub. on Jun 19, 2008 Second LifeScreenshots - Photos - Pictures waterfall cave

Here is a beautiful shot taken in a cave with waterfalls and foliage:) I felt inspired to simulate sunlight falling in through a hole in the wall, after which I motion-blurred the falling water and then added sparkle effects to the waterfall and the pond in painstaking detail, having to create them each one at a time. I can say I am enjoying adding real life photography touches like motion or lens flares to existing Second Life imagery very much:)

WOW I love it! Love how you made the sun enter into the cave! :) Hugs sissy!

Motion blur on the water fall is a great find! I should have added that to my 'things you can use' tips. reflection on the rock is a nice little detail. the lens halo is a bit overkill though, and would require the sun to be in the photograph too, which would have it's effect on the water. so parts I love, parts I love.. eer... less. (the halo is really overkill. did I mention that already?)

well the idea is that the sun is shining directly through a hole from outside and into the camera, and at the same time because the water is not directly in the sunlight it only sparkles a little bit. however I see your point about the lens flares being too strong I think you are right...and yes you did mention it twice *giggles
thank you for your kind words and the constructive criticism I appreciate it very much:)

No problemo. I appreciate (constructive!!! ;) critiques myself, and like to make sure people know their judges are actually taking the time to look at each photograph. through a hole, yes that would have been possible, and would match with the shine on the rock. but the flare would be different then. (don't ask me how it would look, but not like this, i fear. also, there would be some rays of light probably)

kind regards,
Vint
