Ok, so taking into account the reviews of my previous version of this: koinup.com/PANTELEIMON-AEON/work/52283/ ...I re-cropped it, to see how it would change it...the pic is exactly the same, just cut differently. I think that now it throws more emphasis on the arch, and head atop...and lets ones eye look through the arch and beyond. I also find that limiting the surplus surroundings does a better job of showing up how beautiful this structure is. It's quite amazing how a different or careful crop can totally change the outcome of a picture, and it's something that Don Hosho also stresses. OH, LOL, I also just learned how to copy and paste, thus eliminating the corner of that annoying platform on the bottom right, which could be seen in my previous take...so this excercise did teach me something. (thanks to Rhondita for the advice on that ) So, I'd be pleased to hear others thoughts on this also...an improvement?...or not? :-D

dear Pan, I think that it is definetely an improvement! as you said now the emphasis is on the bridge and on the perspective behond...... now the images has a real focus, it catchs your eyes on the real subject! moreover, looking at your take, I catch the humanoid sculpture at the botton....a detail that it is not particolarly evident in other attempts.... probably this one is an other sign that this image get the goal really better! great improvements mister!

Thanks, Angel :-D
Definitely an improvement!! The reducing of the space creates a much more dramatic effect not only on the menacing head :) but also on the entrance itself. Makes it much more tempting and at the same time, much more uncertain ... not sure I am finding the right word in English but ... something like a "Narnia effect" without a closet :-) Is Beguille the name of the sim?

Thanks for your input, Antonella...and your probably right about the Narnia Effect...it gives you the feeling of a passage into another realm. Personally, I also prefer this shot, and it shows how important something like selective cropping can alter a shot. And yes, it is a sim..here is the SLurl: slurl.com/secondlife/Beguile/79/159/46 Maybe you can try a pic there yourself? :-D
Thanks for the SLURL...i will try one there too. I totally like this one better. Very dramatic...I want to walk through the arch! again you are the frame master!
