Stolen Victorian building
Original creator: Koshari Mahana
Thief: Kalryk Silverfall

"hi am very sorry no have not "copy whatever " you thought I did but the house was purchsed, I believe form x street.I liked the design, so was going to re produce it and change a few things
as it is NOT a custom design and a reproduction of a nice victorian very nicely done..... thought it could give me some ideas....
...plopped it down on my land and things went nuts with building.... when highlighting the building the name of the creator was..... De costa..... NOT YOU... since it really bothered me that THAT PARTICULAR NAME WAS ON That building < I removed a prim and re linked... all and I mean ALL other builds are done by me from scratch useing that design as "blueprint" but they are my builds....... "

(The thief)

OO's comment: The entrance was copied from the smaller Victorian Shoppe of Koshari (see here: www.koinup.com/OriolusOliva/work/207550/) Pure copybot work, modified with ugly freebie textures to hide the traces

This is just irrational. Firstly, Decosta has nothing for sale even remotely similar to these designs. Secondly they are indeed custom designs, I made up the design and it was originally a custom build created for a customer via her needs (she wanted two sides to the shop with a stairway in the mildle, we went from there with the other elements). He told me in chat that I really don't have rights to the design because it's Victorian era and I did not live in the 1800's. I guess that means that any creators in Second Life that have historical builds do not have rights to the design because they did not live in those times. Yes, it's just irrational and absurd to boot.

Notice how he said he used my design as a "blueprint". hmmmm... pretty revealing.

"Content Theft can be annoying, heartbreaking, aggravating and frustrating all at once. It can drive you to stop creating, and destroy your spirit. It’s important that you don’t obsess with it though – whilst the thieves may try to steal your work, they will never be able to steal your skill, talent and innovative ability.

And that’s where your true value in Second Life lies."

I completely agree with that. Just like RL, SL is a world full of creativity and inspiration. Dont get bogged down by the BS.

There is NOTHING wrong with taking inspiration from someones builds and making your own version of it.  This is just stupid, esp if it's not even being sold.

I often make things based on things I've seen, it's not illegal, it's not even immoral, get over it.
