"How did it come to this?"

Lilith, a character that i created for a post-apocalyptic RP that i ran for a short while. Lilith is an accidental vampire and one of the three main antagonists in the RP.

Pre-apocalypse, Lilith--real name Liliya--was one of the most unlikely people you'd have pegged to become a blood-sucking commander in a military government: a sworn vegetarian, a devout follower of the Russian Orthodox Church, and a supporting dancer in the Bolshoi Ballet, of all things. Her personality still makes her an odd choice for the position. She holds it mainly due to her sheer physical strength, her connections to her fiance Alex, the right hand man of the leader Robespierre, and Robespierre's trust in the depth of that bond (she has decribed Lilith as a lovesick, bloodsucking puppy, on more than one occassion).

Lilith herself doesn't want the role; she fills it for Alex's sake, and tries to use it as a way for her to atone for what she has become, using her inhuman abilities for what she sees as the greater good. She frequently disagrees with Robespierre's methods, however. Not that Robespierre ever listens to Lilith. Despite her misgivings and personal dislike for the other woman, Lilith always follow the orders.

Lilith loathes being a vampire, and wishes more than anything to be a full human again and to live out a normal, quiet life with Alex. She fears the uncertainty of her future, both in this world and the next, and the possibility that nothing she can ever do will absolve her of what she has become.
