very good one! In my opinion against only one thing I would like to fix in this photo, if u like to match the front area with background more, try to use a green color in sky. because i feel the front and the background doesn't mix enough ..

also in landscapes the light source is only one.. which is the sun in this case.. so the lighting applied on her avatar doesn't match the sun lighting direction.

this is very beautiful but I have to agree with donhosho, also the sun itself is a little bit too bright and takes the focus away from the lovely girl in the center...conversely she could stand to be brighter as well:) in fact this would be the better way to go as the wings are quite bright and almost seem to give off a light of their own, which should illuminate the avatar as well. other than that this is an excellent photo and the use of colours is wonderful. great job:)

whilst I like the bold colours that are being used here I do agree with Don in that the background doesn't feel as though it's part of the image. As a result of this I think the fairy looks as though it's been cut and pasted over a background. Just a few adjustments to the background colour to make it tone in would solve this. Also as Don said the positioning of the sun would mean that she should have a little light on her right hand side and be in shadow on the other. The wings should also be darker but maybe with a little transparent look to them perhaps. Composition wise it's good, nice positioning. Good effort :))

great job indeed! really an awesome avatar and a unique work on the windlight!
I have to agree with the suggestion of Rhondita, Don and BB about the contrast beetween the front area and background.......I think it is also interesting what said by Rhondita about the sun......it brings away the attention from the avatar.....but the avi is so beautiful that probably it deserve all the attention and focus!

beside this, awesome job Faerie!

Thank you everyone. This isn't a composite or anything - it's just a pic of me I took. You are right about the lighting - I should have taken my facelight off thats why there are highlights on the wrong side of me. I added a gradient to the sky from top right to bottom left - should I have left it with the light blue sky and white clouds?

I will go back and have another go at getting it right this time. Thank you - I really appreciate your help.

I also have a few very positive thing I really like about this. I liked the way you cropped this image and did not try and include all the wings. And the way the ski to the right of the image has that dark overlay at the boarder curves in the same shape as the wings, very effective. I do agree that the lighting and tones of the image almost makes it appear like three separate images pieced together skiy, wings, and avitar. some blending of the three to even the tone/color and lighting would do the trick. Nice pic overall! Monroe
