Showing Off My New Wings
As I've said before, my fursona is a dracoon, a hybrid of raccoon and dragon. I got my raccoon avatar from Luskwood. Next thing to do was find a good pair of dragon wings. Unfortunately, I had a hard time finding them. I eventually wound up in the computer-crashing FurNation Worlds Mall, and happened across a vendor selling dragon avatars. The dragons had just the sort of wings I was looking for. I contacted the vendor about getting just the wings. She brought me to her home and gave me a first-hand look at her wings. They were just the right kind. I bought them for L$400. The full avatar would've cost L$600. So the majority of the avatar's cost comes from the wings. The wings caught my interest because the vendor's picture showed that they could be stretched out. I didn't know how special that was until I saw them in action. They stretch out automatically when you fly, and they use a special flying animation to show them flapping. Very awesome, totally worth getting. The only downside is that their stretched and folded positions are two sets of prims. One set is invisible when not being used. And unfortunately, this means that I have to right-click around these big invisible wings when looking at stuff, or else I click the wings by accident. If I could find some way to not click invisible prims, that would be great. Don't count against the Dragyin dragons just because of that, though. That's an issue with any set of wings like that. If you want to avoid that, you'd have to find a set of wings that actually physically stretch out. I don't know if those sort of wings exist in Second Life. And if they do, I'm sure they're expensive.
