The old jeep was a wreck and I reached this cuban village at the end of the world by foot about midday. The cantina at the marketplace was empty like the whole sleepy village.
"Hola, stranger" I heard from an electrifying voice trough the open window.

She came to me and we talked in a funny mixture of spain and english.
Felt good to have her near me.

When I told her that I'm an actor, I had to play a part of "King Lear" for her.
She was the most enthusiastic audience I ever had.
|
|
Next time I saw her, she was on her balcony.

Extempore "Romeo and Juliet" in a cuban village.
She was such a talent!

She came down to me and we walked to the major office. Sitting on the steps we talked in the warm evening sun.
The sound of her warm and soft voice entangled me and I was happy that my jeep broke.

We looked over the marketplace to the church and I asked her, if she could imagine to leave all this.
"I can't live anywhere alse than in cuba, amigo", was her answer
|
|
When she took me in her arms, even before we kissed, we knew that we where made for each other.
"When will you go away?" she asked very silently.
"Never", was my answer.
