Viking refers to a member of the Scandinavian seafaring traders, warriors and pirates who raided and colonized wide areas of Europe from the late 8th to the 11th century. These Norsemen (literally, men from the north) wear a very spartan armour. But, all free Norsemen were required to own weapons, as well as permitted to carry them at all times. These arms were also indicative of a Viking's social status. A wealthy Viking would have a complete ensemble of a helmet, shield, chainmail shirt, and animal-skin coat, among various other armaments.

Avatrian's Viking Raider represents an ensemble for a Norseman of higher status. In addition to the helmet, chainmail, shield, belt and undergarments, we added a spear and an axe to the weaponry set. The Viking Raider is packaged as a full avatar. Meaning, it already comes with an avatar shape that will fit in exactly to the armour. However, it is important to note that the skin and hair of the avatar shown on some of these images are not included in the package. But customizations are also available.
