  First picture in a series of three inspired by a line of Mermaid Tails I made for IMVU. Somewhere between awake and asleep I was staring at my avatar, all dressed up, and decided that mermaids made stars, somehow, I wasn't sure. I love the way this came out, it was simple, the context was off centered and small, I'd just broken every rule my art teacher ever beat into my head, it was all good.

I learned a lot while I was making this picture as well, this was only the second time I'd worked with up-close ocean waves, and my first time working with a light cloud cover. With the help of some very critical friends and some amazing tutorials I finally finished this... and promptly fell asleep right after submitting it.
